Second job interview - between you and VITO

Just few selected candidates are invited to come to the second interview. So do not expect to get through  easily. If you intend to outmatch all other applicants with your working experience or background, let's realize facts. Such things determine the result of the initial interviews and the previous phases of selection process. In the second interview, those play no role indeed.

Here the time has come to demonstrate key abilities and to do the good impression on the person who decides once the interview session ends - VITO.

1. Think about the discussed issues from the perspective of business owner, not from the perspective of an employee. Employees care only about wages, but VITOs are interested only in company profits.

2. Try to create as friendly relation with VITO as you only are able to. Decision makers aren't recruiters. They do not watch your non-verbal communication and they are not concern about many little things. Directors basically want to employ in their corporation people they like to talk to about various topics and feel good being with. If directors love to be with you, VITOs will love to employ you.  

3. Be always two steps further. Decision makers run a business now, but think always about the time to come. When answering the questions in the second job interview, do not be afraid to propose your ideas about some innovation of the company processes, challenges that could take place and definitely, your suggested solutions. Think always two steps further and you will finish the day with the coveted employment contract in your hands.   

Usually several people working in the company take part in the second interview. Recruiters, managers and possibly some assistants attend it. However, in 90 percent of cases only a single one person decides who gets the contract once the day is over. Exactly as you guess, it is the decision maker.
